Whenever you use injections, incisions, or anesthesia, you are taking certain risks with your health, and any professional procedure can be extremely expensive! Lipo is a popular idea. But most people will never get it, because it is highly inaccessible, and it is known among many that it only truly works for those who are on Extreme Diet Plan and exercise plans and only need a little bit of extra help. But they are now introducing a new procedure that can help you to shed away that belly fat, get more shapely hips, or otherwise target small pockets of fat removal without surgery, injections, or anesthesia.
Known as cryolipolysis, this procedure was actually inspired by research on children and popsicles in the 1970’s! Some doctors have speculated that popsicles and cold drinks can actually damage cells of all kinds, causing mutations and eventually causing cancer. But any statements about that are questionable until more proven. This research showed that some kids had dimples in the cheeks, concluding that it was because of the popsicles. They therefore decided that this dimple in the cheek had more to do with a loss of
fat in the cheeks, and therefore cold temperatures in the mouth or body cause fat loss.
Other research has shown that cold temperatures can cause the body to go into overdrive to protect itself, creating heat and thus burning fat. This is actually a technique that has been featured on many sites that encourage anorexia and bulimia. However, studies have also shown that overactive thyroids cause a rise in body temperatures whereas an under active thyroid would mimic this effect, lowering body temperatures and therefore causing an increase in fat storage. So the evidence can be rather conflicting.
Does Cryolipolysis Work For Fat Removal?
Cryolipolysis works by using a small machine that lies on the outside of the skin. It sends signals through the skin, not actually freezing the skin, but by simply freezing and damaging the fat cells. They say that over a couple of months after the procedure, the body will naturally eliminate this fat, after they use a vacuum like machine which will suck the fat into a butter type shape. There are no injections. So they are not actually pulling the fat out. Your body still has to work to eliminate it, making it sound a lot like an injection.
Cryolipolysis has been known to leave a giant hickey on the area of fat removal from the vacuum like machine. But this seems to go away within just a few minutes. There are a few bodybuilder and athletes who would swear by cryolipolysis. They have suggested that it has given them better body definition. And it may be like liposuction, in terms of being meant specifically for the in shape. It may also move fat around, creating new trouble spots. However, the research is still in its early stages, and this remains to be seen.
